I’ll jot down more elaborate details of how much my christmas sucks later, but I need to write this down before I forget, although I have a fleeting feeling that this thing I imagined definitely exists.
No elaborate diagrams this time… just imagining that a device that is basically an external hard drive, but instead of connecting via USB or Firewire cable, it broadcasts a wireless signals on its own and so multiple computers can access it at the same time… so it’s basically a mobile, wireless file server.
Definite not a new idea, can easily be created with existing technologies, but since making a computer to computer wireless connection is more complicated than plugging in a USB hard drive, I’m pretty sure it won’t catch on even if it gets made.
